Westside Honors Gala: Éxitos En Nuestro Barrio
The WDC hosts an annual gala entitled Westside Honors: Éxitos En Nuestro Barrio, which honors individuals who have lived, worked or contributed to the Westside. The unique idea about this annual event is that it will always be hosted in the Westside. The event is taking place Thursday, May 10, from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Rosedale Park. 2012 Westside Honorees include Ms. Patti Radle, Mr. Alex Briseno, Mr. Ramiro Cavazos, and Mr.& Mrs. Enrique & Isabel Sanchez. Newsletters
The WDC publishes newsletters on a quarterly basis and distributes them via e-mail blast and placement within the community at targeted sites (i.e. libraries, community centers, etc.). If you are interested in receiving regular updates from the WDC, please sign up here.
Look West Breakfast Series
With a boasting entrepreneurial economy and an iconic cultural district, the WDC created the Look West Breakfast Series to help dispel opinions and instead educate individuals on the assets the area has to offer. Primarily targeted to businesses, institutions, and organizations, the breakfast series has been embraced with success through consistent attendance of over 100 people and the ability to network among elected officials, educators, bankers, architects, construction companies, neighborhood leaders, non-profit organizations and real estate brokers. Past topics include redevelopment of key corridors, neighborhood revitalization, healthcare, transportation and jobs in the Westside.
